Have you heard of Axe throwing for fun? I am excited to tell you all about my experience at Houston Axe Throwing right here in Houston Texas! It is perfect for celebrations and dates! We went for a date and it was a blast!! 
So Houston Axe Throwing is Houston’s first indoor urban axe throwing range and the first axe throwing club in Texas. Not only is it great for a night out with friends, bachelor/ette parties, and team building it can be a form of stress relief. There is nothing quite like learning a new skill, mastering it and releasing your inner lumberjack/jill. 
I am not sure how this is the first and only! These should be everywhere! After a wild week this was such a stress relief.
You can pick from a 1.5 hours walk in adventure or a 2.5 hours private booking. When you arrive you sign in with an ID and your ticket. You will also sign a waiver. You can see that here. You will be assigned an instructor who will be with you the whole time. You will learn, practice and then finally square off in a group tournament for the title of Axe Throwing Champion.
Our instructor was Stephen and he was AWESOME! So energetic and encouraging. You see, I struggled. ALOT. I was trying so hard but it just would not stick. I touched the bullseye a couple of times but it never stuck. He gave me extra time at the end to keep trying till I got it. He coached me and we made adjustments until I DID IT! After losing miserably and feeling terrible there is no way to explain how excited I was to get those 3 points! 
Joel on the other hand was awesome. I knew he would be. He has all those years of baseball experience and has a great arm! He got several bullseyes and scored almost all of our points. (Except my 3!) 
We were in a small group of 4 people which meant lots of throwing time. But don’t worry, if you get hot or tired you can take a quick break. They have water and fans! There are little competitions. Unfortunately we didn’t win any because of me. But the other team really did rock it so I am happy for them. They gave them tiny trophies. 
Houston Axe Throwing was so much fun! If you are looking for a date night idea in Houston or a fun place to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, or just because, this is the place to go!
