Today my family and I spent the morning in Nashville at The Immersive Nutcracker experience – A Winter Miracle.

The Immersive Nutcracker is an ideal family outing, featuring whimsical animated characters alongside footage of professional ballet dancers. This joyful 30-minute immersive experience is an ideal outlet to introduce young children to the art of ballet and the captivating storytelling that often accompanies it. Set to the sweeping music of Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Immersive Nutcracker encompasses visitors in over 500,000 cubic feet of projections composed of over 1 million frames of video, curating a grand immersive display that relays the tale of The Nutcracker
from opening to finale. The projection features beloved scenes set to their classical scores like “The March of the Toys,” “The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” and more.

This show was nothing short of amazing. We were all amazed by the lights, the dancers on the screen, the décor, and everything else they worked so hard on for this experience.

When you first walk in, you are standing in a big empty room but the walls are already wrapped in beautiful winter scenes. There are benches that you can move to your desired spot and something for the kiddos to climb on. Speaking of kiddos, because this is an open and immersive experience your kids have plenty of room to run around and dance to the music and follow the characters running along the wall. Personally as a mom of younger kids, this was something I really appreciated. This truly was immersive, as the whole room was wrapped in several beautiful projections from the very top to the very bottom.

This is a 30-minute production, which is just enough time for the kids to get their energy out before the ride back home! They also have a gift shop right outside of our exit hall full of beautiful gifts, including various apparel, keychains, bags, books, pencils and erasers, coasters, jewelry and more. The gift shop isn’t only full of stuff from our particular immersive experience; they also have items from their Van Gogh experience and their King Tut experience (which I personally really want to go to!). Their store is also 75% off almost everything making many items less than $15!

They have several other Nashville dates available in November and December. December has almost a full month’s worth of shows! I highly recommend it! You can find a list of other cities with shows here.

It’s great for the whole family. It would even make a nice little date day if you want to go without children. It is truly a beautiful experience and I cannot wait to go back next year!
