I was given the opportunity to try products from Label Daddy in exchange for my opinion. I chose to review the Zipper Tags, because I felt they were something that we could really use.
The ordering is incredibly simple to do. It was pretty much a select a few options and insert names process. I was immediately impressed with the huge selection of icon options. They have licensed characters from Disney, Marvel, and major sports teams. I knew that Xander would be using these for several years, so I opted for a more generic guitar icon on a green background. I wish they had a better preview for the generic designs, but they do promise that an “expert” will review your order and make placements to give you the best overall look.
I was ready to place my order in about a minute. Okay, so it took me longer… but that is only because I played around a bit with different designs and font choices to see everything they offer. I might have to order some for my own things!
My only issue here was the confirmation screen. It tells you to wait a moment while your order processes… but it never went away. I think it would be helpful if this changed once your order goes through.
The zipper tags arrived very quickly when you consider that I ordered at the height of the back to school rush. They gave a warning that orders may be delayed a bit, but it still arrived faster than I’ve experienced with other personalized products. They were packaged in a pair of small plastic zipper pouches inside a larger mailer envelope.
They are made very well. The coin part was much thicker than I expected. The clip is not some dainty jewelry piece. They do say that the zipper tags are not meant to be used as zipper pulls, but they are sturdy enough that I can understand why they needed to make the clarification.
The actual label part is a sticker placed on the metal. The side with the name is in a recessed area on the tag. The side with the icon is flat. I haven’t noticed any peeling of the stickers yet, but I do suspect that it will happen eventually. The tags come in a package of 20, so I’m not horribly concerned about running out of legible tags any time soon.
You may find the price a bit high… hey, even I did at first… but these zipper tags are sturdy and with a package of 20 we are good on jacket, backpack, and pouch labeling for several years.
Pros: Lots of variety both in label types and the styling options. Very easy personalization process. Discount for liking on Facebook was pretty cool. Fast shipping even at very busy start of the school year.
Cons: Shipping was a bit much, but this isn’t a problem exclusive to Label Daddy.
